Using Resource Boxes in Article Marketing

"Your resource box in that brillant content you wrote is the most important section of the article."

Laura Childs, Oct 01 2007

Every article you write should include a resource box at the end of the article. In fact, make it the second most important focus of your writing (the first is quality content) when using article marketing for website traffic or gaining new subscribers.

An article resource box is little more than a few lines of text providing a bio or snapshot of an author's expertise. The resource box also allows you to include a link to your website or newsletter's subscription email at an auto-responder service.

There are a few considerations to make before you write that resource box and submit your article for inclusion to other sites.

First and foremost, do not abuse your resource box with blatant sales pitches and marketing plugs.

As an article writer you are expected to write like a journalist, not like a salesman. You'll put every reader or webmaster considering using your article if you try to sell anything directly from your article content.

Just write a quality, informative article, link to your site within your resource box and leave the selling to your website!

Write your resource box in the 'third person'. As an example, if I were to write an article on working from home, I would include a resource box at the end of the article much like this:

Now you have an idea why the resource box is so important to the article marketer.

After an informative article with tips to accomplish the tasks the title describes, the reader discovers next how to get more information about their favorite new topic for free.

Believe me, if they were interested enough to read through the entire article, they are certainly ready for more and (usually) hungry enough for more information. As you've so expertly laid out, they then will click through to subscribe or visit your site.
