Automated Posts to Your Blog
I have some very important industry news to share with you today…
Two new RSS and blogging tools are hitting the scene this week. Either one of these could boost your site’s rank and traffic considerably.
At first blush these two will look the same, but there are some major differences you need to be aware of before you consider clicking that order button.
First of all, should you buy either of these tools?
The answer, whether you have a blog or not, is a definate YES.
If you don’t have a blog in your area of expertise then set one up on blogger and run one of these tools – at the least you’ll gain off-site link points from the search engines. And Adsense income if you’ve signed up for it.
These tools both scan online RSS NewsFeeds and post them to your blog. The outcome is an active, regularly updated blog without a daily ‘hunt and write’ time investment on your part.
If you’re a purist for relevant content for your readers and don’t want to take risks with your search engine ranks read on…
BlogPower vs. RSStoBlog
BlogPower submits a scheduled string of posts. If you think that google or any other search engine won’t see the footprint, then I leave your site’s positioning in your hands.
RSStoBlog mixes up number of posts - this appears more ‘natural’ to the search engines. And, in the upcoming release will also randomize the timing of posts!
BlogPower runs on your desktop. If you have an older machine or a slower connection or for that matter turn your computer off when you’re not working, this could be a problem.
RSStoBlog runs on your server. While you rest, work, or take a vacation, without using up your desktop resources.
I’ll write more on these two powerful programs in a few days, and I’ll do my best to answer any questions you may have (just drop me a note), but I did want to alert you to these tools and try to give you some ‘insider information’ on the major differences in the two.

Hi Laura,
I own Blog Power, mostly because it was the first sales letter I got and secondly because Stephen Pierce recommended it. I have a question about one of your comments.
…
From what I see Blog Power randomly posts based on a low and high interval you select – from 1 minute to 999 minutes. Would this still mix up the times enough not to leave a footprint?
Thanks!
Hi!
Thanks for writing. Unfortunately I’ve only had the chance to use the pre-launch version of BlogPower. I haven’t fully tested the newest version. If the posts are in fact now intermittently set then you should be okay…however I’d check with the developer – or even check your blog’s posts.
You’ll also want to ensure that the posts are random in their #s – e.g. not consistently posting 4 new items. The goal is to make the search engines think that an actual human(s) is doing the posting. RSStoBLOG handles this beautifully.
Keep me posted on how you make out with these new innovations!

It seems that many readers were under the impression that I was giving a full blown review and sent back some pretty nasty personal emails as a result.
1. Yesterday’s post was a ‘first blush’ comparison.
2. When I originally tested BlogPower it did not have a random posting feature. Now it does. That makes it even better than I thought it would be.
3. My other concerns with BlogPower may not be yours, but they still stand.

I’m still in testing phase and am moving into the datafeed bonus item of RSS2Blog and will comment back further when I have more to tell you. (I can tell you that I’ve read quite a few accounts now of webmasters using datafeeds with great success).
Have a fantastic day and please remember, we’re all human.
Truly, Laura Childs
Hi Laura
Please ignore all the ‘nasty notes’ and keep doing what you’re doing. I need someone with your level of expertise and commitment to this area to work out which product is the best investment. For those who don’t understand this – stuff’em!
Kind regards,
Anthony
Anthony:
Thank you kindly!
I need you more than you know. If you have specific questions, so will others. It’s hard to know sometimes, when you’re so thick into RSS Feeds, what’s relevant to new users and what’s not. So feel free to drop me a line and I’ll answer as best I can. This serves all and I’m happy to help!
Laura Childs
p.s. Thanks again – you have no idea what a nice note like this can do for a girl!

What kind of a review of two products is THIS??
Your information is completely inaccurate – You must not have purchased and used Blog Power. You don’t even post a link to Blog power!!! Only to the RSS to Blog.
Seems rather biased to me.
(further ranting…)
I have witnessed hard proof that BlogPower gets your sites spidered and indexed into Yahoo in 3-4 days, and in Google within 2 weeks. Does RSS2Blog have any such proof?
Mary
After reviewing the ‘nasties’ I have come to the conclusion that most of those who wrote and who were angry, were not mad at me, but perhaps at themselves.
Maybe…because they jumped and bought before they researched.
Maybe…because they saw a few marketers publicly flaunt how much money they made promoting BlogPower (off the little guy’s hard earned dollars?).
Maybe…because they weren’t feeling well – who knows?
As I write this my research is not complete, but I will respond to this: “BlogPower gets your sites spidered and indexed in yahoo in 3-4 days…”
BlogPower is not responsible for this magic.
Any simple RSS feed will perform this magic.
I have taken a new site and had it spidered and indexed in less than 12 hours by simply adding an RSS news item and linking to the site – no special software required, neither BlogPower nor RSS2Blog.
The site was http://www.MarkStarowicz.com and the site designer paid me well to get the site into google and yahoo. All it took was one link in my rss feed.
The saga continues…

**Something About Mary**
Mary G. that is…
One of my awesome readers sent me a note yesterday…It is people like this – who have solutions or suggestions instead of flat-out rude rants – that make anything I do online worthwhile. After all, in my opinion, we’re all in this together.
Together.
(I’ve edited out Mary’s personal details because I haven’t checked with her before publishing…)

“Dear Laura,
I really enjoy Stampede Secret’s blog, so please don’t let those nasty notes get you down for long. I particularly enjoyed the first review of the RSS software. I believe Sydney Johnson is also about to release a similar product, so I look forward to your review of that as well.
(personal background snipped)
Marketing requires a very tough hide, which isn’t easy for sensitive people to develop.
There’s no reason to apologize for being “human.” Your sensitivity is one main reason for your readers’ respect and trust. We’re grateful you’re writing real reviews of RSS software instead of the usual puff pieces. And we can all do without the self-righteous, arrogant bullies who try to police everyone in sight. I’ll bet they’re real losers offline.
If the software version you tested has been updated, then why not tell the marketer you need a newer version if he/she wants the more recent features included in an update?
Thanks again for your great blog!
All the best,
Mary G.

Noel sent me an email today…
Short and sweet, a word of encouragement. I read somewhere that for every email you receive from a subscriber there are 100 more who had the same thought or question but didn’t send the email or reply to a blog post.
So you can see how Noel’s note, along with all the other notes I’ve received, give me strength and encouragement in just one line. One line to the power of 100…
“Hi Laura. Keep up the good work.”
