Blog Set Up Help
Posted on August 27, 2005
Ever bought a website on ebay?
I’d never really thought of it until I was setting up a page on my making money online in the country section where I discuss various ways to earn a living in the boondocks (sticks, bush, rural, country).
That page lists current online businesses and business services for for sale on ebay…
As I’m checking the page I see some interesting ‘established’, ‘profitable’, and pre-configured ‘adsense’ websites for sale in the listings*.
But what really stood out is an auction from a guy named Chris who will post content to your blogger or WordPress blog - $15 for set up and $10 a month (it’s an introductory offer as a test for potential demand).
“Hey now that’s a good idea,” I think to myself, “Here’s a guy who owns some kind of automated software and he’s selling it’s tasks as a service for the non-technical group.”
Innovative Entrepreneurialism in action.
I love people thinking outside of the box…so I emailed him!
Seems like a decent guy, friendly, knowledgable and he understands his market very well.
Yes, you can buy software that will do this for you and the best is RSStoBLOG, it’ll cost you money, time, and some brain power. The software is perfect for marketers who understand keywords, domains, cron jobs, and automation. But truly the blog automation software is best for power marketers who are running multiple websites, multiple blogs.
Listen, if you:
- want your own blog, and
- you want someone to set it up for you, and
- you need someone to show you how to post your own content to it, and
- you want some automated posting going on to populate your blog with fresh content daily (because you don’t always have time to write a paragraph or two)…
then you need to check out what this guy Chris is offering.
He set up a website explaining what he does, but if you’re still not convinced or if you need more information, try emailing him. I bet you get an answer within 24 hours and I’ll bet it will be honest and informative.
And, no code for you! No cron jobs for you! No database, blog, template, installation…and all that other geek stuff. Chris takes it all!
Go check it out…

p.s. I haven’t used Chris’ service, but I have seen samples of the blogs he’s built and you can’t beat the price. I make no money from referring you to his service. This blog post is simply a service of ‘match-making’ my reader’s needs to a valuable marketing related service online. Chris knows I’m sending people to his site, feel free to tell him Laura sent you…

* Please, please, be careful if you’re considering a purchase of an established website on ebay. I’ll tell you some of the ways you can get ripped off in a future post - even from the power sellers! If you’re reading this now and I haven’t posted the list of things to watch out for, feel free to email me personally before you buy. I will help you, I will not overbid you, my ebay id is folk-laura so you can be sure I won’t steal your gem out from under you…I get a lot of emails from people with specific needs or marketing questions and I’m usually quite happy to answer. Heck I’ve even been known to answer the nasty ones!

I really like your website and professional way of laying out specific information. I am getting ready to purchase the script you recommended Wordpress Data Feed but first I had a question about the wordpress blog site I have at abusinessassociation.com. I cannot get the RSS and the comments at the bottom of the page to work. The links are broken. Could you please tell me what I need to do to fix this? My web techs do not support Wordpress so I have no one to ask.
I look forward to reading everything on your site as it is very informative.
Thank you!for your help.

Maureen, the solution is easy-as-pie!
The problem you’re having is in your footer.php file - that’s one of your WordPress template files. In your admin dashboard you’ll find it under the Presentation tab. You just need to edit the footer file, take out the ‘feed’ in both statements for RSS and Comments. It will look like this a href=”feed
