Sean, you are right on target with this thinking!

Google uses google home page...
Yahoo uses myyahoo...

We all had a boost getting indexed in yahoo quicker with myyahoo feed submission...now google appears to be allowing the same.

The issue google seems to be having is one of rdf feeds. RSS and XML extensions appear to work fine and quickly. After testing Denise's feed for a week I find that 50% of the time google does display the feed. Now 1/2 right is the same as 1/2 wrong so definately some work needs to be done on google's end, but google is now more aware of each and every post Denise makes to her blog than they were before. Which only means more bot visits and more indexing!

Folks, get on this. It takes a few minutes of setup but could give you an extra boost in ranking. Well worth it in my opinion...

Did you try it without the http:// prefix as well?

Hi followed your instructions to set up my home page on Google but it would not accept my RSS feed. I have a Typepad blog (several) and not one feed I entered was accepted. Kept saying feed not found. Works in other applications and feedreaders so I guess Google isn't compatible with Typepad yet.
