Making Money with Blogs - 3
Posted on April 8, 2005
I’m getting a lot of emails asking me if what I’ve written in the sidebar of this page is really true.
You may not know me personally, or tried any of the methods I’ve shared, or taken me up on my free offers or recommended resources - but hear me now…
I do not write things that aren’t true.
If something works for me, I’m going to share it. End of story.
Now, let’s get onto that sidebar posting…see it over there on your right? In orange “Don’t let other people slow you down. I was making money with integrity with this program…”
Here’s how it works (it’s not one of those twisted click 5 times to earn a credit traffic schemes):
- It costs you nothing other than 20 minutes of your time.
- You sign up to promote a link to a well known marketer’s blog. He writes a lot of great articles and only promotes the most helpful, most insightful products (ranging in prices from $15 and up).
- You enter your affiliate information in the control panel so that all your referred sales are tracked. Many of these are clickbank products so you probably already have an ID.
- Add a link on your site, in your email signature, or blog (as I’ve done at right).
- One of your website visitors, blog readers, or subscribers follows the link, reads the content and perhaps purchases a recommended product from that blog.
- You make the full commission - even if the product isn’t owned by the blog you’ve linked to.
How hard is that? Sign up, enter your info, add a link to your site and collect commissions.
You don’t lose your visitor (have the link set up to open in a new window), someone else does all the promoting for you, the posts are not hype, the products are excellent value that you’d probably be promoting yourself if you knew about them, and you’re credited for any sales off his site!
My commissions are just starting to heat up now, but there is much more to come.
Right now, affiliate commissions are coming from a info-rich ebook Allen Says called “Private Posts from the Internet Guru Letter - Just Add Action.” In my opinion this book is seriously underpriced ($14) and Allen says he’s going to stop selling it soon (he’s allowed to do that you know, money isn’t really a big concern for him). If you aren’t inspired by this insider information, there’s something wrong. There is information in Private Posts for every level of marketer - except for those that don’t do anything with what they’ve learned.
However I strongly urge you, if you are interested in making some easy affiliate income off one link you ’set and forget’, take the 20 minutes and do steps 2, 3 and 4 above.
And please, don’t ask me if what I’ve written is true again. It hurts my feelings.

Here’s one of the tools Allen gives you for your website…a simple piece of javascript code that you can insert into your blog post or html page. What shows up to your visitors is what you see below. A listing of current posts on the Guru Blog, and when visitors click through they are tagged with your referral link. But even more importantly, you’ve just recommended them to a top notch internet marketer!

Hi Laura,
Thanks for the great information. But I have a question - Do you know of a resource that tells people specifically how to sell master resell rights to their own products? I’ve looked everywhere and my blood shot eyes will attest to it! Still haven’t found one by someone who has actually done it. Everyone is selling someone else’s products, not their own. So, I thought I’d ask you.
Again, thanks for the great newsletter and keep them coming;)
