Secret Bonuses…
Posted on September 12, 2005
It seems that every list I’m on for products I use and people I recommend is giving out the most awesome unannounced bonuses and specials!
Using RSS Feeds in Blogs
One of my favorite ever RSS software applications - RSStoBlog - sent me a free pdf today (just for being a subscriber) outlining how Kelvin Hui made $600 in his first 2 weeks with the software in Adsense profits alone. It’s not a pitchy report and it’s only for customers as an unadvertised bonus. Thirty five full step-by-step pages with walk-throughs and screen shots. (You can now guess what I’ll be doing with the rest of my week…)
The Point Is…
We’re all gearing up again. The kids are back to school, the beaches are closing, and Christmas is right around the corner. We all need to start making more money with our websites, get higher positions in the search engines (so we can make more sales) and generally just be a lot more efficient about our work. If you’ve been thinking about either one of the programs above I strongly suggest trying them out now, before the prices go up or before you miss out on the extra reports.
To Your Continued Success,
Laura Childs

Laura,
What’s the difference between the two? (Blog Submitter and RSS to BLog) Which one’s better? I have RSS to Blog. Just wondering if it can do the same thing as Blog Submitter.
Thanks,
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
Two different programs performing two different tasks.
I’m glad you have RSStoBLOG, it’s such a timesaver! I load up my RSStoBLOG installs with content for the week and then move onto new projects.
Once you’ve got a system down pat you can easily keep launching domains and blogs that post every day and keep giving the search engines a reason to keep coming back.
BSP isn’t for everyone and is under hot debate at the moment. BSP posts prewritten comments to other people’s blogs that allow comments, and as a result build keyword rich backlinks to your blog or site of choice.
The process has given some webmasters great success on yahoo’s listings and has others screaming ‘foul’. It can be regarded as an unfair advantage and comment spam - especially when overused.
It is no different than visiting forums and leaving a comment for the purpose of gaining an inbound link to your site. If the post and link aren’t appropriate or allowed the forum owner deletes it. Most forum owners recognize reading posts and ‘cleaning up’ as part of the job of running a forum where they want people to comment and interact.
Not all blog owners are the same however. Some want comments, any comments (for a variety of reasons). Some don’t care (because they only created the blog to gain inbound links to their own sites and don’t use the blog for any other purpose). And some blog owners are freaking out because they don’t want comments and haven’t figured out how to turn their comment system off or turn on word verification. (Either one is a one click task, but it makes more sense to them to rant.)
At the moment the program targets blogspot hosted blogs. Which I’ve been telling people for months not to use as their flagship blog if they aren’t planning on doing the work required (such as checking on and cleaning up posts, turning on the word verification feature, etc.)
I don’t know exactly what is coming in the upgrade, only that it is a big improvement - we shall see. Nonetheless, like I said, some are having great results…
My biggest concerns with watching some people’s use of the program is that they are just leaving junk in the comments they leave - nothing of value to the blog owner other than a “Great blog”, then launch right into their shameless promotion.
And finally, a word of caution…I’m pretty sure it is against google’s terms of service to drive automated traffic to a site running Adsense. If google finds out a marketer could get their adsense account shut down. If adsense is their ‘game’, they should either be driving traffic to a site that then links to their adsense site. Any yahoo spider or interested traffic will flow from one site to the next.
Anyway, this is a long answer to a short question. If your time and funds and risk-taking is limited I strongly suggest sticking with RSStoBLOG as the marketing software of the year - used responsibly it is the app of choice.

Hi Laura,
I was wondering about your ebook idea. How does one go about “installing” an ebook to ones site? How does one istall it so that the only way anyone can down load the file is by paying for it first?
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks
PKR
Hi Pam!
I’m guessing that you are asking about ebooks in the niche marketing sense?
There are a number of ways to save a file to your server behind password protection, encryption, or just a few defensive maneovers in page creation.
Do you already have an ebook created and now you’re ready to sell it? Steve Shaw has a great payment encryption package (about $30 I think) that I use on a few of my sites, but some of my cheaper ebooks, I don’t bother protecting (other than changing it’s location from time to time).
If this isn’t what you were asking, just write me back with a little more detail and I’ll try to help.
Truly, Laura
