<p>Here&#8217;s why most of what you have been told by other so-called article marketing experts and gurus is dead wrong when it comes to writing and submitting articles online.</p>
<p><b>1. Traditional article marketing rarely results in any new traffic to your site.</b></p>
<p>Links from hundreds or thousands of unimportant article directories and sites are only going to build an army of low-quality links that do nothing for your page rank in the search engines. And it certainly will NOT bring you any more traffic. This is a mistake that tons of people are still making everyday on the web, and most of them don&#8217;t even know it. They just assume what they are doing will eventually work &#8211; because that&#8217;s what other experts are telling them.</p>

<p><b>2. Traditional article marketing does not establish you as an authority in your niche.</b></p>
<p>One of the biggest advantages of article marketing is that as soon as you publish your first article, you become a published writer in your marketplace. You will soon be considered an authority in your niche, which is great &#8211; but only if you are published at reputable sources. For example, my articles can be found on top websites like About.com, SiteProNews.com, MarketingProfs.com, Microsoft Community Dynamics and many more. Blasting out articles to a lot of low-quality sites makes you appear to be an amateur and not an expert, something that traditional article marketers tend to do.</p>
<p><b>3. Traditional article marketing promotes going for the quick-fix.</b></p>
<p>There are a lot of marketing &#8220;gurus&#8221; out there who claim to have the magical solution for helping you obtain thousands of links back to your site just by the push of a button. There are others who claim to have a solution for the duplicate content problem &#8211; and promote something called spinning software, which will produce several variations of an article. The problem with these &#8220;old-school&#8221; quick fixes is that article submission software results in the low-quality link. And spinning software creates articles that read unnatural. This is Not an effective way to create REAL traffic. It&#8217;s a waste of your time and money not to do article marketing the right way.</p>
<p><b>4. Traditional article marketing doesn&#8217;t result in dollars earned.</b></p>
<p>Traditional article marketing is all about producing content for the sake of quantity and not quality. Mediocrity is not the way to attract new business. Article marketing done right will grow into a powerful viral machine that will continuously bring you fresh new targeted traffic and qualified leads day after day. Especially, once you learn what your market wants to learn. Writing quality articles to meet those needs is like money in the bank!</p>
<p><b>5. Traditional article marketing doesn&#8217;t give you a system for maximizing your article marketing efforts!</b></p>
<p>You spent time writing the article. So why not get the most use from your articles. Getting your articles published on top websites will give you the ability to&#8230;</p>
<p>* Mix your social media efforts with your article marketing efforts. You can Tweet about your new article placement. You can link to the article placement on Facebook and LinkedIn. You can answer people&#8217;s questions on forums and send prospects to your article for even more information.</p>
<p>* Get in front of your prospects face again. Send the high authority site&#8217;s link with your article to your list. That&#8217;s how Kevin Berchelmann received a new, mid 5-figure client!</p>
<p>* Enhance your credibility on your blog. You can link to your article placements from your blog and show that you are the expert. Show how you&#8217;re different by getting published on a top website or online publications and not just sites like EzineArticles.com where everyone can get published as long as you follow the editorial guidelines.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There&#8217;s a war going on out there &#8230; It&#8217;s brutal, it&#8217;s relentless and, like all wars, there&#8217;s always the potential for casualties.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s set the scene. At any given time, legions of professional emarketers gaze intently at their target audience through the finely-tuned sights of their opt-in mailing list.</p>
<p>With their trigger finger poised in eager anticipation, they unleash their precious marketing payload with laser-sharp accuracy towards their quarry.</p>
<p>The binary hordes are released &#8211; every email bearing news of compelling &#8216;value propositions&#8217;. Each one has a specific destination, a destiny to be fulfilled and an outcome to be realised.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, dug deep in their bunkers, IT Managers and IT Administrators await &#8230; They know their &#8216;enemy&#8217; well and keep their primary defences in a high state of alert. Together with sophisticated filtering software to protect their networks, the technical teams form a formidable line of defence against the onslaught of both inbound and outbound email. After all, email&#8217;s just email, right?</p>
<p>No matter. With strategies, tactics and policies firmly in place, mailing lists primed and mail servers &#8216;locked down&#8217; &#8211; so it begins.</p>
<p><strong>Friendly Fire</strong></p>
<p>Incredibly, the adversaries described above are actually on the same side and are simply playing out a scenario that is very common within many businesses.</p>
<p>On one side are the emarketers along with their comrades-in-arms &#8211; the sales teams, while the other side is composed of those charged with maintaining the overall well-being of the company IT infrastructure.</p>
<p>And this, despite the fact that &#8211; according to a recent survey by email marketing specialists, emedia, less than a fifth of IT managers actually declared any hostility towards email as a mass marketing medium. In fact,43% of IT Managers actually felt positive about it!</p>
<p><strong>Flak From All Sides</strong></p>
<p>As if this wasn&#8217;t enough for emarketers to deal with, they&#8217;ll frequently be involved in a two-way tussle with the sales effort for primacy in who is the dominant dynamic in driving company revenue streams.</p>
<p>A sales force will rightly lay claim to persistent, highly-focused endeavour emanating from slogan-filled hives of &#8216;sharp end&#8217;, &#8216;front line&#8217; activity. Don&#8217;t marketers, by comparison, sit around sipping cappucino while admiring their latest creation?</p>
<p>M<strong>arketers on the other hand, will justifiably label themselves as the company </strong>&#8216;think tank&#8217;. A breeding ground where innovative persuasion techniques are born and nurtured that identify, reach and motivate prospects into becoming warm leads. Doesn&#8217;t this just leave sales with the &#8216;straightforward&#8217; task of closing the deal?</p>
<p><strong>All Together Now</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s clear that there&#8217;s a disconnect between the wants and needs of the sales and marketing effort (ie. those who create, define and close business opportunities) compared to the vital role played by those who keep company networks secure and available.</p>
<p>This imposes a considerable challenge to the folks who control internal operations &#8211; after all, isn&#8217;t outbound email messaging as mission critical as IT systems security?</p>
<p>Business success can be gauged in a number of different ways but ultimately a balance sheet will reveal everything you need to know. To this end, all parties &#8211; sales, marketing AND IT &#8211; need to work together to produce a mutually desireable outcome which means a collaborative approach to emarketing delivery.</p>
<p><strong>Delivery Best Practice</strong></p>
<p>There is evidence to suggest that marketers do not currently seek advice from their own IT department on how email delivery can be assured.</p>
<p>In fact, the following statistics make for sobering reading when you consider that, according to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.emedia.co.uk/?page=emailmarketingitvmarketing" >emedia&#8217;s survey</a> 80% of IT departments will filter out messages with trigger words, 64% will not allow content such as images, multimedia files, active script or hidden text while 75% employ blacklists/whitelists and 51% use Sender ID or Sender Policy Framework (SPF).</p>
<p>Furthermore, it was discovered that a tiny minority of IT systems (just 3%) have no form of spam filtering at all. For an emarketer, this represents an extremely small window of opportunity indeed regardless of the size of their mailing list.</p>
<p>Finally, only 3% of IT Managers felt that campaigns were delivered by the IT and Marketing departments together, even though 8% of marketing respondents claimed they were.</p>
<p><strong>This is where emarketers need to get cute.</strong> Without meaningful dialogue with their IT people they are, to all intents and purposes, doing little more than generating internal &#8216;spam&#8217;.</p>
<p>Meaningful questions need to be asked between all parties however. Such as, Who&#8217;s responsible for the email campaigns? How is spam dealt with? How are blocked emails managed? And what considerations need to be made to accommodate modern, content-rich email such as video?</p>
<p>And while the salespeople may feel like casual observers in all this, it&#8217;s entirely in their interests that the process of email delivery is as smooth and seamless as possible.</p>
<p><strong>It&#8217;s always good to have options</strong></p>
<p>With emedia&#8217;s findings pointing to the fact that only 15% of email marketing campaigns are currently outsourced to specialists, it&#8217;s clear that marketing, sales and IT departments would greatly benefit by adopting a best practice approach by working together rather than against each other.</p>
<p>If this isn&#8217;t practical, then serious considerations should be given to outsourcing emarketing campaigns to specialist email marketing companies who are experts in this niche area. That way, significant, tangible and measureable results can be achieved &#8211; <em>all without a single shot being fired!</em></p>

<p>Stick with me for a minute and I promise you&#8217;ll find something useful about article marketing.&Acirc;&nbsp; There&#8217;s a line from an old TV commercial that I&#8217;ve never been able to shake.&Acirc;&nbsp;I can&#8217;t remember the ad exactly, but it involved a housewife &#8211; I know we don&#8217;t have those anymore.&Acirc;&nbsp;Now we have homemakers and domestic engineers, but back in the day, stay-at-home moms were called housewives.&Acirc;&nbsp;</p>
<p>Anyway, this housewife is on the phone with one of her housewife friends and thumbing through a magazine when the friend asks, &#8220;What are you doing&#8221; and the woman cheerfully chirps, &#8220;I&#8217;m cleaning my bathroom bowl!&#8221;&Acirc;&nbsp;&Acirc;&nbsp;</p>
<p>The point of the ad being, she had discovered some miracle product that not only allowed her to accomplish two things at once but simultaneously relieved her of a most distasteful task.</p>

<p>If you write online articles it is important to relate to the reader that you truly know what you are talking about and give them confidence in your expert status. There are many ways to do this and it is best to let it ride or leave it subtly implied. It is best to show them not tell them, although telling them might also be a good idea. For instance after writing 11,111 articles online I am an expert in online article writing and therefore you as a reader might learn quite a bit from me.</p>
<p>This is one way to work into the article the fact that you know what you are talking about. Recently this subject became a very popular subject at the top online article submission website on the Internet, when some asked on the Blog:</p>

<p>  Generally, if you speak from an authoritative voice and talk &#8220;matter of factly&#8221; the reader will get the idea pretty quick that you hit the subject matter head on and get right into the juicy stuff without delay or a lot of wordy fluff. When I write an article this is what I do and it has indeed worked for me with over 4.3 million article views on one website alone, without counting all the syndicated article views.</p>
<p>Of course it goes without saying that you need to know your subject matter or you should not be discussing the topic at all in my humble opinion. If you know what you are talking about it should show and it is your job to show them with substance, an authoritative voice and a clear direction. Your expert status should be obvious.</p>

<p>But wait, what if you COULD take on this gargantuan task? What if this one thing could make all the difference in your business? Read on for some tips and tricks to make it easier. Not easy, but easier.</p>
<p>First of all, do I know that it takes 250 articles to achieve article marketing success? Well, the advice is from Christopher Knight at ezinearticles.com. He says the average article is read between 20 and 250 times per year. Multiply that by 250 and you have created a crazy good traffic machine. He also points out that true mastery seems to come at about 100 articles. When you reach 100 you are faster, you are good, and you&#8217;re in the zone.</p>

<p>But 250 articles! That sounds like a lot. But before you decide you can&#8217;t do this, understand that you can! And you SHOULD do this! Why?</p>
<p>-It will get you long term sustainable traffic for FREE.</p>
<p>-It will establish you as an expert in the market place.</p>
<p>-In the process you will become a thought leader.</p>
<p>-You will become more proficient and intelligent in your niche than 99% of your competitors.</p>
<p>And one other reason: the lazy marketers won&#8217;t do it. You&#8217;ll rise above the crowd, and do what others won&#8217;t do, and get what others won&#8217;t get. (OK, that&#8217;s from a cheezy saying, but it&#8217;s true!)</p>
<p>And here&#8217;s some tips to make it easier for you.</p>
<p>1. Focus on short, specific, simple topics.</p>
<p>2. Not a writer? Get a recorder, and simply talk out your topic. For example, take a question you are commonly asked about your product or service, and answer it into a recorder. Your answers can easily be converted into articles!</p>
<p>3. Just write one 400-800 word article per day. Don&#8217;t think about 250, just think &#8220;one&#8221; for 250 days.</p>
<p>4. Surf sites in your niche for inspiration on topics</p>
<p>5. Enter your relevant keywords into the google keyword tool to get related ideas.</p>
<p>So there you have it, 250 articles to become the master of time and space in your niche. And now that this article is done, I only have 220 to go! Race you there!</p>
